Principal's Message

Greetings and welcome to Unity Christian School, the home of the Flames!

I am thrilled that you have taken the opportunity to explore our school's website to learn more about our wonderful students, staff, and programs. Fifty-four years ago, in 1969, Chilliwack Christian School officially began educating students in the Eastern Fraser Valley with the mission to provide a Christ-centered education. Now called Unity Christian School, we have continued that mission to provide an education where Christ's influence pervades every subject, every teacher, every relationship, every day. We are Learning and Living in Christ!

We are deeply committed to nurturing students' God-given potential as they humbly serve God's world. I am very proud of our incredible teaching staff, as they are dedicated, caring, student-centred, and growth-minded. They have worked hard to prepare formative learning experiences to see students flourish and thrive. I would encourage you to view Unity Christian's Graduate Profile, as it articulates our learning targets for all of our students; the skills, characteristics, and competencies we hope to nurture and shape in all of our students along their educational journey. The Graduate Profile is organized around our community's core values: Dedication to God, Challenge, Community, Grace, Acceptance and Inclusiveness, and Discernment.

Being a part of a K – 12 community provides terrific learning opportunities. From buddy programs to theme weeks, students at Unity Christian have the unique ability to take part in cross-grade learning experiences. Having English 12 students read to kindergarten students, and grade 7 students teach math to grade 4 students is a terrific and unique opportunity. Cross-grade learning strengthens the positive school climate and culture, which you can feel quickly as you walk the hallways and sit in the classrooms.

Unity has been blessed with excellent facilities and programs. We have seen growth in our Music and Drama programs, built a new Metalwork facility, stepped into the world of VEX Robotics, added new academic courses such as Calculus 12, Social Justice 12, and Physics 12, and new electives such as Computer Information Systems 11, Entrepreneurship 12, and Outdoor Education 12.

I encourage you to come to the school and experience our learning community. For 54 years, we have seen and experienced God's guiding, providing, and faithful hand; we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Our prayer is that Unity Christian School will feel, smell, and sound like the Kingdom of God, a place where students are a blessing to others while Learning and Living in CHRIST.
